Day One

The Festival of Stories opens Friday evening with the Storytellers Sundowner, a warm, joyful welcome at the Festival’s home: the historic Echuca Wharf, in the heart of the Port. Locally sourced food and drinks, art installations and live entertainment set the tone for the weekend ahead.

To tell the stories of River Country, we must begin with the oldest ones.

As the sun sets over the Murray, the official launch begins.

First Nations musician and storyteller Dan Sultan performs alongside Yorta Yorta artists Benny Walker and Madi Colville-Walker — sharing song, story and language.
