About:

Scott Podmore has spent much of his working life chasing a good story, meeting fascinating people and finding the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary.

An Australian journalist, author, editor and media personality, Scott is currently Editor-in-Chief of Starts at 60, one of Australia’s leading digital communities for older Australians, where he oversees stories spanning travel, lifestyle, entertainment, health, money and the people who make life interesting.

His career has taken him across newspapers (starting at the Riverine Herald in Echuca),  magazines, digital publishing and books, with a particular love of human-interest journalism, engaging interviews and stories that stay with readers long after they’ve finished reading.

A published bestselling author and experienced interviewer, Scott believes everyone has a story worth telling. He’s just as comfortable chatting with a household name as he is discovering the fascinating life of someone who has never appeared in a headline.

He has a keen interest in the music, travel and the characters who give communities their colour, humour and heart.

As a Festival of Stories ambassador, Scott is delighted to champion an event that brings writers, artists, performers and audiences together through a shared love of storytelling.

For Scott, some of the best stories begin with a simple question: “Tell me about yourself.”
